I just purchased the mix16 PRO and it did exactely what my band need. We use a lot of vídeos, still images and audios during our concert and mix16 is perfect for the job! As i plugged the thunderbold adaptor for the external monitor, the video was there, full screen, without errors or any other configuration! Just download, load your files and be happy! Now comes the best part. I wrote an email for say congrats and the Grega, the app ’s developer answered in a few minutes asking for suggestions to improve it! Can’t get better than this! I used this program to run sound and video backing tracks for A Chitty Chitty Bang Bang musical. It works brilliantly! However, when a singer is singing to a song that’s part of a video that’s playing, and the user running the program inadvertently hits the next cue button half way through the currently running video track… During a live production… There is no playhead control! So going back to the previous cue and moving the playhead ahead to the point where the talent was singing, isn’t even an option. Perhaps making it so that when the “Next” cue button is pressed, the playhead position is recorded so that when a new-button-that-needs-to-be-made-called-“Back” is pressed, the production can continue where it left off, and the 9 year old with a solo doesn’t have to sing acapella! Also, it’s not very usable for rehearsals, as there’s no playhead. If you’re in a tech rehearsal for instance, and you want to do a cue to cue practise, you cant move the playhead ahead to the end of a song or video to work the transitions and practise the use of the software efficiently. All this aside, the simplicity of creating cues and being able to advance consistently and reliably is a boon for any theatre looking for a platform to run shows with.

I am running the audio for a broadway class, musical production and needed an app that could handle multiple channels playing simultaneously, loading lots of cues for music and sound effects (upwards of 150), easily nagivate bettwen cues and set the sound level independently for each cue. And most important - run stable. Ive used MiX16 Pro for three weeks now in rehearsals (multiple hours per day) with no crashes, on my Dual Core MacBook (OS X 10.8.5). I had a few suggestions after initially purchasing it. The developers response time was near immediate. He listened to my input and quickly implemented multiple feature requests (coded, tested and released through Apple within two weeks) -- two of which save a tremendous amount of time preparing and changing cues. I would highly recommend this app if you need to run audio and/or video in a show environment. And the support is first class! One tip from the developer that I use -- if you need more than 64 audio cues per set and have unused video channels, you can convert the audio files into M4A format, rename them to MP4 and load them up in the video channels (setting Fade Source to Audio). This gives you up to 64 additional audio channels in a single set, which in my situation have been a significant benefit.

I Don't Write Reviews Often

Hey Folks! I have used this program for our community theater for I don't remember how many years and over 10 shows. I am able to manipulate the sounds, change each track's volume separately, cut tracks, group multiple cues, attach projections and oh so much more. It has lighting console features as well which I haven't used yet but plan to. Best of all it is preformance reliable! Never had it crash durring hours of use. I'd love to see an addition of track editing using wavelegnth and a better fade to next track but that's just getting picky. I can do those more detailed things on Logic and upload that track. Seriously love it, don't let the low number of reviews fool you!

Fantastic Software

This is an amazing peice of software. I've fallen in love with it. After using to to run projections and audio playback multiple times at Duke Ellington School of the Arts, I much prefer this to QLab and love the features and layout. The only thing that is not perfect is that there is no audio waveform for ease and viewing, you have no ability to edit the times and curves on fades, and I cannot figure out how to BOOST the audio input further than the input if needed. But either way, amazing software. 4.5/5

PERFECT for everything I need

Great app to trigger audio, images, and video. I use a hardware MIDI controller to trigger the events, but I was having a few issues. I contacted customer service, and they replied within a few hours. Problem solved. Amazing app and amazing customer service!

Decent alternative to Sport Sounds Pro

My rateing and my review title might seem in contrast, but I stand by it. If you are a PC to Mac transfer like I am, and you used Sports Sounds Pro, you were used to working with a very simple but very stout cue program that made it easy to copy tracks to new pages for new projects by simply clicking a button to a new page while having access to the old pages. I’ve seen a few things on MacOS that look similar, but nothing that matches Sports Sounds Pro. So enough about that. I found this program and it’s really solid. It apparently does music and video. And maybe lighting also. I’m only interested in the music. The projects get saved in a file. I created a special folder for these because it tried to save it in a music folder before. Once you figure that out, it’s pretty easy to keep track of your projects. The files load easily and setting individual preferences for tracks is a breeze. Adjusting volume for individual tracks is maybe my favorite part of the program. I haven’t figured everything out yet. I did write Gregor once or twice and he was quick to respond. It’s not the same program as Sports Sounds Pro, so if you are looking for exactly that and expect this to be a clone of that, you might be a little disappointed. But if you are looking for a really good cue program and will let/force you save projects separately, give this a try. You might even find it’s a better program for your needs. This a very good program and will give you a lot of what you are looking for. And if Gregor ever decides to write a cue program that sets up like Sports Sounds Pro, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Seriously.

Great app - never had a crash

Been using for a few years for local theater productions. Very simple to use and most importantly, super-stable as the dev promises. I might wish for nested cue trees as in Qlab. But I do love that there's always new features to work with every few months or so. Great job Gregor - thank you!

Professional & Reliable

I use this app for wedding ceremony music and 300-500 person events where reliability and stability is critical. So far, I’ve never had a problem. Highly recommended. $30 is a steal.

Live Broadcast, Theatre, Church Service, Etc? No Problem!

Mix16 Pro is amazing. I use this app a few times per week and have never had any problems. Running the app and broadcasting to secondary screens is automatic. No screen mirroring needed as the program truly functions as a professional broadcast system. Pod casting, video casting, Theatre production, etc? No problem. 29.99 is not to high of a price to pay for this application as it functions as it says. I admit that I was apprehensive at first but decided to take a chance. I have been dissappointed in the past as I have been unhappy when purchasing similar apps that claimed they performed similar tasks but did not live up to expectations. Mix16 Pro however exceeded my expections.
